Hecko's Art Blog

Archive for the ‘AniBlobs!’ Category

NB!! This AniBlob will not be for sale once AniBlobs! become commercially available, as I do not own the character concept.

Anywho, since I’ve been imitating a lot of styles differently recently (EDIT: was I drunk when I wrote this..?) and making drawings for people, I wanted to make one for Wikivic too, since she’s a pretty cool lady.

However, since I haven’t seen any character art by her, I was a bit D= about what to draw. In the end, I decided to take the Angry Chicken logo from one of her drawings and make it an AniBlob XD

I named him Oinxter. He’s dedicate to a friend of mine, Yuan, who promised to send me pig-shaped moon cakes for the moon festival on the 15th of October.

I named him Ping Pong based on a joke told by Robin Williams in Robin Williams – Live on Broadway. Originally, I also wanted him to have the nickname “Bear with Balls of Steel” in the original Chinese (again, from same joke by Robin Williams). I therefore asked KaikiFreAk for a translation which turned out to be super-long, so I opted not to use it anyway :/

I named him Apa, based on the word ‘apathy’, since he looks pretty apatethetic. Also, a small tribute (that doesn’t really make much sense) to Apachai Hopachai, who often shortens his name to Apa.

I named him Q-Kumber and nicknamed him K (Kay). The name is a pun on the fruit (yes, fruit) Cucumber, which is what Kappa love to eat the most. The nickname is a pun on the letter K being called Kappa in Greek.

I was inspired to draw this after finally having ordered the book “Yokai Attack! The Japanese Monster Survival guide” that I’ve wanted for a few months now. I received it in the mail the day before yesterday, and have been inspired to do a YokaiBlobs! series too (but I might reconsider).

I named her Keai after the Mandarin word for cute (可愛 kě’ài), but I think I failed pretty badly at making her look it… =.=; She looks more like what you get if you mix a tucan with an onigiri or something…

Emmadine, named after Emma Lanford and Nadine Richardson of the pop-duo Hot ‘n’ Juicy, who sang on the Mouse T song, “Horny” (the pun being the dual-meaning of the title; in the song meaning lustful, in this case meaning to have a horn)
